Under the Audible Frontiers banner, the business started its foray into the audiobook industry in 2008. Audible persisted nonetheless, and in 2003 the business had a contract with Apple to supply books for iTunes. With the tragic death of the previous CEO, Andrew Huffman, from a heart attack, the business experienced some difficult times. Because of the limitations of the mid-1990s technology, the gadget could only store about two hours of audio in Audible’s exclusive format. It created a digital audio device that customers could buy to listen to their preferred audiobooks. In 1995, Audible was becoming a stand-alone business. For example, Michael Caine’s podcast Heist is about notable robberies, and Alan Partridge’s podcast From the Oasthouse is read by the East Anglian superstar himself. There are a lot of podcasts with famous hosts as well. The reading of books aloud can be done by a narrator, the writers themselves, well-known individuals, or even an audio cast. With an Audible membership, listeners can download or stream the titles of their choice. The world’s largest selection of books is available on Audible, an audiobook service from Amazon, which also offers original podcasts and new publications in addition to well-known classics.
